At this wiki, you will find all the documentation you should need for creating custom maps and mods! We've put a great deal of work in providing such an extensive library of documentation, and are providing an entire mod with the mod tools distribution, with documentation on the wiki for every aspect of that mod.
The hope is to allow you to side-by-side recreate our mod by following the steps on the Wiki, to learn the skills necessary to go out there and make your own great games!
The mod tools will be released shortly - they are finished and are going through the final stages of QA now and will be released as soon as they are cleared. You will find a mirror list on the Wiki, and it will be announced on CallOfDuty.com as well. We're targeting for a tomorrow release.
We hope you find this tool useful, and look forward to any suggestions you have as well as your own community made tutorials that will be posted around the 'Net (like at MODSonline.com).
Important: the tools have changed a bit from previous titles. It is crucial that you read the documentation carefully to get used to some of the new processes. You can do everything you could, and more, but may have to change your ways a little bit.
Bullet-worm has released a new update addressing a few issues in PAM for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Bug Fixes:
- Weapon Limit issue at halftime is fixed
- Timeout/bomb defuse bug is fixed
- Stock Bug Fix: Sabotage Overtime Scoring bug fixed when bomb explodes AFTER all of the defusing team has already died
- Fixed a bug in the scorebot with the // delimiter not showing up right.
New:
- Removed obsolete security method since .ff files are no longer secure and moved all files possible to the IWD file
- Patch maps can now have the effects removed (Killhouse does NOT work)
- New IWD file security system will list the loaded IWD files on the server (even server side only IWD files) and show if the devmap is currently running on the server.
- New options for bullet penetration issues. Bullet Penetration can be turned OFF, or you can set a multiplier for the amount of damage given by bullet penetration.
Promod (Raf1) advances implemented in some form:
- Can disable the auto-aiming capability of the melee attack
- Ability for a player to drop the bomb if playing without multibomb on
- There is an option to have the server automatically configure the clients' dvars for potentially higher FPS and ping values. The downside being that it takes some of the "pretty" out of the game.
- Ability to turn off the player's head bobbing motion
JD has posted an update over at the official Call of Duty forums today regarding the recent master server down time and reports of players losing/reseting stats.
Hello everyone,
So it was a long weekend for all of us, and I appreciate your patience as we worked past a service outage.
What happened was, we made a game that so many people wanted to play (alright you got me, I’m bragging!), that our master servers were inundated with authentication requests which simply got back-logged. This resulted in response times that exceeded the hard-coded timeout thresholds in the game.
It was a problem that has been 100% resolved. I could give you more techno-speak as to how we solved the problem, but I’ll just assure you that it shouldn’t happen again.
Now a bigger issue is the loss of stats. It’s apparent that a small percentage of players may have lost their stats over the weekend. This is definitely a problem, but not the same as with the PS3. So while you may be reading about some PS3 stats resetting, and how we think we know what’s going on there and working on their fix, that doesn’t translate to the PC.
PC stats are stored locally, not on a master server. So unlike the consoles, where we know where the problem exists, we don’t have an explanation yet as to why your file systems changed as a result of failing an authentication request with the master server. As such, it is taking us some extra time tracking down the cause on the PC.
Nevertheless, we are working as I write this to figure out what went wrong, and a solution to include in the next patch we have in-development.
So I apologize for any inconvenience this caused you, and thank you for the feedback as we troubleshoot this issue. I’ll keep you updated with what we learn.
Call of Duty: World at War, the latest release in the best-selling action game franchise, is now available to gamers around the world via Steam.
Call of Duty is back, redefining war like you've never experienced before. Building on the Call of Duty 4®: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War immerses players into the most gritty and chaotic WWII combat ever experienced. Players band together to survive the most harrowing and climactic battles that led to the demise of the Axis powers on the European and Pacific fronts. The title offers an uncensored experience with unique enemies and combat variety, including Kamikaze fighters, ambush attacks, Banzai charges and cunning cover tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through the all new four-player cooperative campaign. The addictive competitive multiplayer has also been enhanced with new infantry and vehicle-based action, a higher level cap, more weapons, and a host of new Perks, maps and challenges.
Activision Blizzard has taken the top three places in the latest UK sales charts, with the company’s two most important franchises battling for supremacy. In the end Call of Duty: World at War won out, with the game topping the combined format charts and the Xbox 360 version debuting at number one in the individual format charts.
The new Call of Duty became the third fastest-selling video game of all time in the UK, behind only Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Combined launch week sales of the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of World at War have outsold those of the Infinity Ward developed Call of Duty 4 by more than 2 to 1.
A new 3D Screen shot has appeared on CallofDuty.com today. It's called 'No Rest for the Wicked'.

Master Servers Down
As you are aware the master servers where down earlier which meant no one could login and play online. JD has posted an update over at official CallofDuty.com forums
Hi everyone,
Oddly enough, as I wrote this, the problem was finally resolved.
The problem was with PC user authentication. We understand how this impacts your gaming experience, and are doing everything we can to ensure this does not happen again. Everything appears operational at this point, so please log back in to your server of choice and have fun!
